2016, we were approached by a brilliant company which started with a vision to promote African brands in USA. It had already started off with 3 SKUs of Coffee, Cocoa and Cashews from West Africa to be sold online through Amazon. The brand received traction and the sales suddenly boomed. The question was, what next to make it the next bestseller and manage growth?

CHALLENGE

It was getting difficult for the company to manage its supply chain in Africa which was depended on local wholesalers and farmers both from a quality and timeliness standpoint. Processing was getting expensive as bulk orders flowed in. The only solution was to integrate backwards and open up an owned and operated processing plant in Ghana. This required investment and raising funds for two purposes; building out a processing plant and inventory to manage large orders.

SOLUTION

Brandbeat offered its business consulting and design services to the founders of Go Africa with a clear objective to first of all build the corporate brand which is investable and represents credibility. Moreover, the packaging needed improvement to scale across the United States and beyond which can appeal to mass target segments. We recommended a separate website for white label clients and wholesalers to book large shipments online and to make the process automated. Yes, the clients could book both LCL or FL shipments which were automatically calculated for FoB, CNF and CIF within minutes.

We suggested creating three core segments for Go Africa to make it attractive for investors.

This required a pitch deck backed up with a solid marketing strategy and sales plan.
We helped curate a robust product mix, modern packaging appealing to three core markets, USA, UK and Europe, a corporate profile, product catalogue, investment pitch deck, a corporate website, online trading platform, fact sheet and an introduction video showcasing the brand line. We furthermore designed campaigns to push sales during the time period it took Go Africa to raise investments.
